The Barabati Stadium in Cuttack was full of excited fans and they were overjoyed and entertained to the core by the incredible performance of the Indian team in the 1st T20I against Sri Lanka. The hosts secured a massive win by 93 runs to gain a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series.

Stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma handled his troops in an impressive manner in the ODI series and the same reflection was on display in the first T20 international match as well. Also, the boys had a great time on the field especially the all-rounder Hardik Pandya who celebrated the wicket of Lankan batsman Dasun Shanaka in a unique way with his teammate Shreyas Iyer.

The T20I series started kicked off in the right manner for the Indian team, keeping in mind that they started off with a loss in 1st ODI at Dharamshala. Returning opener KL Rahul came back in touch with an important knock of 61 runs which will certainly improve his confidence.

MS Dhoni and Manish Pandey finished things well to put up 180 runs on the board after losing the toss. Then the two young wrist spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav bowled extremely well that never allowed the Lankan batters to come into the game and as a result, they were bowled out for 87 runs.

Unique Hi 5 celebration

Young athletic all-rounder Hardik Pandya is known for his unique style of celebrations after every defining moment in the game. But this time he celebrated in yet another way with his teammate Shreyas Iyer after taking the wicket of Dasun Shanaka. Rather than using their hands, these two did the regular Hi5 celebration using their legs, which is not usual. Still, this young generation has their own styles and ways to handle different situations approaching in the modern day game.

The Indian Cricket Team on Instagram wrote- “indiancricketteamWe’ve heard of the HI5 ?? What’s with this new style? What are @hardikpandya93 and @shreyas41 up to? #TeamIndia #INDvSL”
