Harshal Patel and Mohammad Siraj are RCB’s key bowlers: Mohammad Azharuddin

The Royal Challengers Bangalore have given some really good performances in the IPL 2022. Their players have played some crucial knocks, and also the bowlers have been very economical this time. Former India skipper Mohammad Azharuddin feels that RCB has two stand-out bowlers who, if perform at their best, can bring a lot to the game.

The highest wicket-taker of the IPL 2021- Harshal Patel impressed everyone with his skills last year. Though RCB did not retain him ahead of the auction, they did not disappoint him as they brought him back at an even better price and recognized his potential in the game.

“Harshal Patel is an experienced player. He has played many games in the IPL now so I understand he has learned a lot from the games. He has a lot of variety to offer as a bowler and has scalped many wickets thus far. Hopefully, he will perform well against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, and keep doing so in the future,” said Azharuddin on Sky247.net presents ‘Not Just Cricket Show’ on CricTracker.

Azharuddin feels that Siraj is a great bowler, but his performance in the longest format of the game is much better than in the shorter formats. He feels that Siraj can be an outstanding bowler in the Test format and his numbers prove the same.

Mohammed Siraj is more suited for the Test format: Azharuddin

“Siraj is a very good player in the game. But I think his ability in the Test format of the game is much more than in the T20 format. No doubt he takes wickets, but when you look at the number of runs being conceded by him, he’s better in the red-ball format,” he added.

Talking about the scenario at the IPL this season, Azharuddin said that teams are posting high scores only if their key players stick till the end of the game, and if the top order fails, then the teams cannot expect a bigger total on the scoreboard.

“In the IPL, whichever team scores big- around 190-200, their main players perform till the end of the game and that is the major reason why they are able to score so many runs. If the top order and the upper-middle order players are dismissed early, then you won’t see a team scoring more than 150-160,” he stated.
