He is my Superman, says Danielle de Villiers on AB's herculean catch
It was indeed one of the best catches in the history of the IPL.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) came out on top against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in one of the epic battles of the Indian Premier League (IPL) this season. While the players from both the sides put on a special performance for the spectators who enjoyed it to the fullest, AB de Villiers stole all the limelight of the evening with a splendid catch to send back the dangerous Alex Hales in the eighth over of the innings. His acrobatics on the field remained the talk of the town and his wife Danielle de Villiers can’t be more proud of her husband.
RCB has been used to be in the must-win situations now and no wonder that the best players of the team put their hands up whenever it matters the most. De Villiers was the man on Thursday who set the stage on fire first with his superlative batting and then gave his heart out in the field while his bowlers were defending 219 runs.
The shot from Hales off Moeen Ali was travelling towards the stands courtesy of the power he put behind it. But the Superman from South Africa didn’t give up and timed his jump to the perfection to get hold of the ball which stunned the thousands of people including the opposition and his own teammates.
De Villiers’ wife’s story
While the social media was flooded with the messages for AB de Villiers with even with the RCB skipper Virat Kohli terming him ‘Spiderman’, his wife revealed an interesting secret about the ABD. Danielle de Villiers was undoubtedly proud of her husband’s effort on the field and updated her Instagram story of him taking the catch. However she edited the picture hilariously and made him look like a Superman in the picture and captioned it as, “Not gonna lie, I’ve known this all along #mysuperman.”
It was indeed one of the best catches in the history of the IPL and is now the top candidate to win the same award for this season as well.
