Shahid Afridi, on Sunday, hogged the headlines after a video of him started doing rounds on social media. In the video, the former Pakistan skipper was seen bashing India Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK). In his sensational speech, Afridi compared PM Modi to coronavirus while addressing the Kashmir issue between both the countries.

In the widely circulated video, Afridi was spotted saying that the world is currently infected with a deadly disease. However, according to Afridi, what’s more dangerous is in Modi’s heart and mind.

Following Afridi’s remarks, many Indian players lashed out at the Pakistan international for his insensitive comments. Former Indian players like Harbhajan Singh and Gautam Gambhir slammed 40-year-old Afridi for his comments.

Harbhajan, who had recently helped Afridi’s foundation to help raise funds amid COVID-19 outbreak, bashed him for passing such comments. Harbhajan didn’t hold back and added that Afridi should be focussed more on his country and stay in his limits. He also pledged to cut all connections with Afridi due to his controversial remarks amid such a stern situation.

Really disappointed by Afridi’s comments: Yuvraj Singh

Following Harbhajan, Yuvraj Singh has also lashed out at Afridi for spewing venom against India and passing such remarks on PM Narendra Modi. Yuvraj, in his tweet, bashed Afridi and said that he won’t accept such words for his country. Along with Harbhajan, Yuvraj had also helped Afridi’s foundation to help citizens of Pakistan. However, the India all-rounder wrote in his tweet that it will never happen again.

“Really disappointed by @SAfridiOfficial‘s comments on our Hon’b PM @narendramodiji. As a responsible Indian who has played for the country, I will never accept such words. I made an appeal on your behest for the sake of humanity. But never again. Jai Hind,” said Yuvraj.

Earlier in the day, Gautam Gambhir also hit out at Afridi and gave him a hard-hitting reply over his remarks. “Pakistan has 7 lakh force backed by 20 crore people says 16-year-old man @SAfridiOfficial. Yet begging for Kashmir for 70 years. Jokers like Afridi, Imran & Bajwa can spew venom against India & PM @narendramodi ji to fool Pak ppl but won’t get Kashmir till judgment day! Remember Bangladesh?” Gambhir tweeted.
