ICC clears Sunil Narine's bowling action, can resume bowling

ICC gave a clean chit to West Indies spinner Sunil Narine’s remodelled action. Since Narine has passed the test, he can resume bowling in international as well as domestic cricket. The 27-year old has been an important crusader for KKR throughout their campaign. He has taken 61 wickets with an average of 16 in the last 3 IPL seasons for them. Sunil Narine was suspended in November last year, after being reported in an ODI against Sri Lanka, while his last appearance came at the BPL (Bangladesh Premiere League). The ICC confirmed that Narine’s retest took place on March 28 in Chennai. The West Indies Cricket Board initially named him in the World T20 squad, but he withdrew citing ‘insufficient progress’ in remodelling his bowling action. However, Narine is slated to miss the beginning of the IPL season due to a family tragedy. “Unfortunately, he lost a family member, his dad passed away so he’s gone back,” former South African allrounder and new KKR coach Jacques Kallis said. “We are certainly not putting any pressure on him to get back yet. “It’s something that I have been through and know how tough a time it is so we are not putting any pressure (on him).
