Preview

We have almost reached the climax of the ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier 2019. The winner of the tournament would be known in about a couple of days time. But before that, it will be the semifinal games that will be played on 1st November 2019 to decide which two teams fight out in the ultimate battle. In the second semifinal, it will be Papua New Guinea versus Namibia.

Thus far, both these teams have played some great cricket in the tournament. While they have managed to qualify for the main tournament in Australia next year, they will still not want to settle as yet. Both these teams will want to go one step further and possibly even lift the coveted trophy. Papua New Guinea has won three games in a row now while Namibia has won five in a row. However, Namibia lost one of its two games in the tournament to Papua New Guinea and will want to make up for that this time.

Weather Report

The temperature will cool down slightly during the evening which should be pleasant for the players. The humidity levels increase slightly as the night progresses but that shouldn’t make much of a difference. There will be a gentle breeze blowing around.

Pitch Condition/Report:

The behaviour of the Dubai track has been quite peculiar in this tournament. Usually, it is not one of those high-scoring venues. But often, we have seen teams play some great cricket here and notch up big scores. Teams will have to be a little cautious with their approach with the bat.

Average first innings score: 136 (Last five games in the tournament – till Playoff 2)

Record of chasing teams: Won – 2, Lost – 3, Tied – 0
