Rohit Sharma lit up the International debut of the new stadium in Lucknow with an unbeaten hundred to put India on the top. The stand-in Indian captain struck eight fours and seven maximums during this unbeaten 111 coming in only 61 deliveries. On what was expected to be a slow pitch, Rohit batted out a maiden over before getting into his groove. He raised his fifty off 38 deliveries and accelerated towards the end to bring up his 4th T20I century in 58 balls.

All the major stats and records that Rohit Sharma recorded during his unbeaten hundred:

1 – Rohit Sharma became the first player in T20I history to score four centuries. At the start of 2018, Colin Munro hit his 3rd T20I ton to become the first such one.


1 – Rohit became the first Indian to bat out full 20 overs in a T20I innings without getting dismissed. He himself batted till the end while opening the innings during the game against Bangladesh in the Nidahas Trophy before getting run out on the final ball.


2 – He is also the first player to hit multiple centuries in T20I cricket as captain. As many as four other players have hit one century while leading the side in this format.


2 – Rohit is only the second player to score more than one ton in a calendar year in T20I cricket. He scored an unbeaten hundred in the Bristol T20I against England. Colin Munro also hit two tons in 2017.


9 – Number of scores of 75+ for Rohit in the T20I format; the most by any player. Chris Gayle had eight such scores in this format.


19 – Rohit now has 19 fifty-plus scores in T20I cricket including the four hundreds. These are the most 50+ scores in T20Is for a player surpassing Virat Kohli’s 18.


68 – Number of sixes Rohit Sharma has scored in International cricket in 2018. These are the most number of International sixes hit by any player in a calendar year surpassing his 65 sixes in 2017.


96 – Rohit’s 96 sixes in the T20I format are the third most by any player after 103 by Chris Gayle and Martin Guptill. The Indian skipper went past Brendon McCullum’s tally of 91 sixes during this innings.


556 – Runs Rohit has scored in 2018 in the T20I format. These are the 4th most number of runs scored by any player in a T20I calendar year and the 2nd most by any Indian. Virat Kohli scored a record 641 runs in this format in 2016.


2203 – Rohit’s 2203 runs in T20I cricket (Men’s) are the second most by any player after Martin Guptill’s 2271. He went past Virat Kohli (2102), Brendon McCullum (2140) and Shoaib Malik (2190) during this innings. Rohit’s tally is now the highest for India in T20I cricket (Men/Women) surpassing Mithali Raj’s 2176 runs.
