11. Ravichandran Ashwin

While some might fully wrangle about his selection since he has been nixed from the T20Is, but there’s certainly no point in writing the veteran off. We all know that even at present in the IPL, Ashwin plays as a premier front-line spinner for his franchise and still has a realm to offer in the shortest format. On spinning tracks, Ashwin has a profusion of tricks and variations to play with eventually making himself equally effective as any leg-spinner in today’s game.

Statistically, Ashwin’s presence can be more alluring as from his 46 T20I games, the off-spinner has picked 52 wickets and has a remarkable economy of 6.98. His strike of 19.73 is even more impressive and has also yielded him a 4-wicket haul. At present in the IPL,  Ashwin also has a reputation of being a partnership breaker or an ace scalper who produces important breakthroughs for his franchise.

Overall, although team India might be now transiting by banking on the new spinning faces from the realm of IPL, still Ravi Ashwin convincingly walks off in the current all-time T20I XI of the country.
