Just as we thought that Virat Kohli will end IPL 10 without any notable contributions, the Indian captain stormed back in the final encounter against Delhi Daredevils and scored a well-composed half-century which ensured Bangalore ended their disastrous campaign with a consolation victory. The most awaited moment in the match arrived when the stylish batsman played arguably the most glamorous shot in the tournament through the cover region. Though it was arguably the best in the lot, but there were several other exceptional shots during the tournament which was executed brilliantly by the batsmen. The young generation batsmen have taken stroke making to a whole new level and some of the shots executed by them were not even thought of a few years back. There were quite a few glamorous shots being executed throughout the group stage but some of them stood out and made it to the list of 5 most glamorous shots of the league stage. He has piled on runs after runs and has got his team off to brilliant starts on quite a few occasions. His exceptional knock of 93 against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens handed RPS a sensational victory and helped them continue their resurgence in the tournament. But his shot of the tournament came against the Sunrisers Hyderabad when the right-hander smoked a short of length delivery of Mohammed Siraj. It was the 5th over when Tripathi swivelled across his stumps and deposited Siraj for a monstrous six over the square leg region. He smashed a brilliant half-century and later it was the heroics from MS Dhoni which handed RPS a nerve-wracking victory in the final delivery of the match. Though he couldn’t carry on the momentum in the next few matches, the southpaw played some delightful shots all through the tournament but none better than the one he executed against Kolkata of the bowling of his fellow Indian teammate Umesh Yadav. It was the 13th over when Yuvraj deposited Umesh straight over his head for a six over the sight screens. It was such a glamorous shot that everyone in the crowd and the commentary box was left awestruck. It came from the middle of the bat and oozed class. Along with Parthiv Patel, the swashbuckling batsman was a vital cog in Mumbai’s defence. He smashed a half-century and amassed 272 runs in 10 matches at an impressive strike rate of 153.67. It was during the first match against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens that Buttler executed one of his favourites shots to perfection. The bowler at the other end was his national team-mate Ben Stokes but Buttler came out with flying colours. It was a length delivery and Buttler scooped it straight over the keeper’s head. Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers went through a lean patch and apart from the odd occasions here and there, they failed to fire as a unit. RCB faced Delhi Daredevils in the final league match of the tournament yesterday and it was an amazing shot from the blade of Virat Kohli which was the talking point of the match. Just as Corey Anderson delivered the 1st ball of the 9th over Kohli just extended his arm and it went sailing over the extra cover boundary for a six. It was just a check drive and the commentators were left awestruck with such an amazing shot.
