A day after the preparations for the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) got off to a start with the player’s auction in Bengaluru the logo season has been unveiled as well. The logo is a combination of a right-handed batsman playing a shot inscribed in a 10 and occupying equal space are the logos of the tournament IPL and sponsor Vivo.

The IPL 2017 auction yesterday attracted attention from the world as players from all over were sold and bought. Cricketers from England who will for the first time be available for a majority part of the league were hot property. Allrounder Ben Stokes was the most expensive player as he fetched a contract worth 14.5 crores from the young Rising Pune Supergiants team.

Tymal Mills might be light on international experience but his ability to clock in the 90 miles range consistently along with the reputation of being an excellent death bowler rose his stake so much so that he was picked by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for a whopping 12 crores. Having featured in the England T20 team in the recent series against India he had turned out to be the most difficult bowler to hit in all the three matches.

Among Indian players leg-spinner Karn Sharma earned the most 3.2 crore from the Mumbai Indians, the second best was uncapped Tamil Nadu seamer T Natarajan who was bought by the Kings XI Punjab for 3 crores. Three other uncapped players bagged big bucks were Mohammad Siraj of Hyderabad – Sunrisers Hyderabad paid 2.6 crores to sign him, Karnataka allrounder Krishnappa Gowtham will play for the Mumba Indians who spent 2 crores for him and left-arm seamer Aniket Choudhury was won by the Royal Challengers with a bid worth 2 crores.
