The Royal Challengers Bangalore absolutely crushed the Kings XI Punjab in Indore. They registered an emphatic 10 wicket win to stay alive in the race for the playoffs. While the win means a world to the visiting side, the hosts now would feel the heat of being in a precarious situation. Coming in to the game, team RCB knew it was a do or die game for them.

Their skipper, Virat Kohli, won the toss and had no hesitation in opting to field first. The Kings got a decent start with their openers adding 36 runs for the first wicket. But a double strike from Umesh Yadav pushed them on the backfoot in the fifth over. The wickets kept tumbling and the innings never found an anchor. The Kings eventually folded up for 88 in 15.1 overs.

In the run chase, Virat Kohli played yet another masterstroke by promoting himself to open. He ensured that he stayed till the very end to see his side through and did not wish to take any risks. Parthiv Patel played the ideal supporting role for his skipper as the Royal Challengers Bangalore won the match by 10 wickets.
