Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) edged closer to elimination after their disappointing loss to the Sunrisers Hyderabad last night. The Kane Williamson-led side produced yet another bowling masterclass as they defended a paltry total of 146, winning the thriller of a match by 5 runs.

The RCB bowlers, on the other hand, has faced a lot of flak in this Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 season after conceding an excessive amount of runs, especially during the death overs. However, during yesterday’s encounter against Sunrisers, they produced a strong performance in the first innings and restricted the away side to a lowly total of 146 all out in the 20 overs.

Tim Southee and Mohammed Siraj, two of RCB’s leading pacemen, picked up three wickets apiece as they cleaned up the tail of the Sunrisers Hyderabad, conceding a combined total of just 55 runs in eight overs. Umesh Yadav, the other speedster in the RCB lineup also had a good day with the ball. Yadav took the all-important wicket of SRH skipper Kane Williamson, his solitary exploit in the match all the while remaining economical.

However, he provided a moment of hilarity in the 16th over as the game was getting heated as the ball went flying out of his hand when he looked to bowl a knuckleball. His ‘delivery’ prompted a surprising reaction from the batsman, umpire and the fielders, as Williamson looked completely perplexed. Even RCB skipper Virat Kohli got in on the act and was caught on camera laughing.
