IPL 2019: 10 Expensive players who might be released ahead of the next season
These players were picked by respective teams for a huge price but they couldn't live up to the expectations.
7. Barinder Sran (Mumbai Indians)
This Mumbai Indians left-arm medium pacer was bought for Rs 3.4 crores. Barinder Sran had a good season back in 2016 but failed to replicate the same in the last two seasons. This year he played for Mumbai Indians and being the left-arm pacer, was expected to make a mark. After Jason Behrendorff left the team midway to join the national team, the management looked up to Sran to make a similar impact like the Australian.
But Sran was targetted by the oppositions as a weak link in the line-up and the fast bowler didn’t have an answer. He conceded runs at an economy of more than 12 in the two matches he played and the team was forced to play an extra overseas bowler in Mitchell McClenaghan ahead of Evin Lewis who is a decent bet in the top order.
