Colin De Grandhomme, the Kiwi all-rounder, was picked up by the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the previous edition of IPL, for Rs 2.2 crores. He played some important innings for them last year but failed to replicate his form this time around.

After retaining him, he only made 46 runs at an average of just 15.33. His strike-rate also went down drastically, from 155 in the 2018 IPL to 93 this season. It was just not good enough for the 32-year-old, who is known to score runs at a quick pace in the death overs. He also could not do much with the ball in the hand, going for 11 runs per over. This actually sums up RCB’s campaign this year, with many good players failing to make an impact.
