IPL 2021: CSK skipper MS Dhoni sheds weight, looks in incredible shape ahead of the second phase of the tournament

MS Dhoni garners attention everywhere he goes. The former Indian cricketer is a legend of the game, and is the heart throb of millions of fans around the world. Dhoni was last seen on a cricket field during the 14th edition of the IPL, where he led the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) side.

MS Dhoni is now over 40 years old, but one thing that has always been an asset for Dhoni is his incredible fitness. Even today, Dhoni is extremely quick between the wickets, and his wicket keeping skills behind the stumps are top notch.

And, Dhoni was recently spotted before travelling to Mumbai for the wedding of Rahul Vaidya, a music composer. And, from his appearance, it was evident that Dhoni has worked on his fitness, and had lost considerable amount of weight. The CSK legend sported a simple yet dashing look, wearing a black T shirt and a grey pant. Surely, Dhoni is in excellent shape for the 2nd half of the 14th edition of the IPL.

MS Dhoni’s CSK produce an excellent performance till the suspension of IPL 2021

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) produced an excellent performance in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). At the time of suspension of the 2021 IPL season, the MS Dhoni led side was occupying the 2nd place in the points table, and had won 5 out of the 7 matches that it had contested in.

However, Dhoni could not set the stage on fire with the willow in IPL 2021. In the 4 innings that he played in the 2021 IPL season, Dhoni could only score 37 runs at an average of 12.33 at the time of suspension.

Dhoni is one of the greatest Indian captains of all time, and has led the Indian side to the 2007 T20 World Cup title, the 2011 fifty over World Cup title, as well as the Champions Trophy title in the year 2013 as well.

The 40-year-old has played 350 ODI matches, and has scored 10773 runs at an average in excess of 50. Dhoni has also played 98 T20Is, and has plundered 1617 runs at an average of 37.60 for India. MS Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket on 15th August 2020.
