With the numero uno position at stakes, Chennai Super Kings will take on Delhi Capitals meet in the 50th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 201. The encounter takes place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Monday (October 4). Both these teams have enjoyed a gala time in the competition and are subsequently occupying the top two spots in the team standings.

While both teams have nine victories in 12 games so far, CSK are at the top due to a better net run rate. Nevertheless, Delhi now have a chance of toppling MS Dhoni’s men. It has to be noted that teams finishing in the top two will have an extra chance of qualifying for the finals. Hence, CSK and DC shouldn’t treat their remaining league-stage games as mere practice opportunities.

DC are touted slight favourites for this fixture as they arguably have the most balanced side this season. On the other hand, there are some loopholes in CSK’s middle order which can trouble them in playoffs. Moreover, DC thrashed by seven wickets in the first half of the competition. Hence, it would be interesting to see how this game unfolds.

Meanwhile, let’s look at important stats and numbers ahead of the 50th game of the Indian Premier League 2021:

3 –Bravo also needs 3 more wickets to overtake Amit Mishra and become the second-highest wicket-taker in IPL history. While Bravo has 164 scalps, Mishra has 166 wickets. Lasith Malinga (170) tops this list.

646 – Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad have added 646 runs in partnership this season, most for any pair.
