The five-time IPL champions are having a disastrous time on the field in the 2022 edition of the IPL.

Mumbai Indians (MI) are struggling in this edition of the cash-rich league, losing eight matches on the trot. They’ve created an unwanted record, becoming the first team in IPL to face defeats in eight consecutive league matches. Nothing is going their way as they have abysmal run match after match.

For Mumbai Indians, Suryakumar Yadav has been the only batsman doing the bulk of the scoring. Barring him, no one has been consistent with the bat which is one of the primary reasons for MI struggling to win this season. Their bowling has been well under par as well with their star bowler Jasprit Bumrah also not quite at his best. The Singaporean all-rounder Tim David is known for his hard-hitting abilities. He has, from time to time, proved that he is a valuable asset to any side he’s playing for. However, he had a tough time in the first two matches against the Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals.

The middle-order batter has a decent record playing for the Singapore national team, playing many crucial knocks for his country. He also has a decent record in his short domestic T20 career with nine half-centuries to his name. He’s also capable of picking wickets with his right-arm off-break bowling. The Singaporean all-rounder also has vast experience, playing for various T20 teams in numerous leagues all around the world.

Tim David was bought by the five-time champions at a whopping price of INR 8.25 crores. He deserves another chance in the playing XI as only two matches are not enough to judge the capabilities of a player.  He has the potential to turn the tables of any match. His inclusion in the squad will strengthen MI’s middle-order as the other batters are failing to provide the support needed.
