IPL 2022: 5 Left-arm pacers who may attract decent bids at the mega auction
The franchises must be planning to have at least one prominent left-arm pacer in their ranks.
3. Sam Curran
The left handed all-rounder from England was the most valuable player for CSK in their most poor season of the championship. He exhibited his abilities with both the ball and the bat, and he proved to be a valuable addition to the Chennai franchise. Despite his inconsistent performances the following year, his multi-dimensional ability will keep all franchises interested to fetch him.
In IPL 2020, he took 13 wickets for CSK at an amazing economy rate of 8.19. He was also a capable batsman, saving CSK from several collapses. He scored 186 runs with an impressive strike rate of 131.17. However, he struggled in the 2021 season, leaking runs at a 9.93 economy rate.
Despite his dipping performance, he will be in the reckoning of many franchises. His natural angle helps him swing the ball away from right-handers and he doubles up as an able batsman lower down the order. He is impressive in the powerplay and is decent at the death. Though he is erratic, he has a potent Yorker and some deceptive slower ones which make him an excellent commodity.
