The orange cap holder of the 14th edition of the IPL is yet another disappointment from this year’s IPL so far. Ruturaj has performed so poorly that he has not been able to cross the 20-run mark in an innings this year, with 17 being his highest score in five matches.

Rutu’s downfall is one of the major reasons behind Chennai’s poor run this year, as they have been constantly losing wickets in the powerplay. Ruturaj is the only Chennai batter from the top six who has not hit even a single six this year.

While Gaikwad has managed to score 35 runs in five innings at an average of just seven runs per innings, CSK fans would be hoping for a copy-paste of last year, when he began with similar single-digit scores and went on to don the orange cap at the end of the season.
