Team India recently won the two-match Test series against the Windies comfortably despite none of their frontline fast bowlers playing. While the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah were rested after a gruelling Asia Cup tournament, Ishant Sharma was injured during the five-match Test series in England. However, the lanky fast bowler has provided an update on the same and is recovering well.

Ishant left the field during the fifth and final Test match at the Kennington Oval after feeling the pain in his left ankle. He bowled only one over on the fourth day of the game which worsened the things for the visitors and they eventually lost the game on the final day in spite of the centuries from KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant.

Ishant Sharma has recovered from his injury after undergoing rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and has started his training. The cricketer himself has given an update on his official Twitter handle by posting a picture of him sweating it out in the Gym.

Ishant crucial for Team India in Australia

Ishant Sharma has grown as the fast bowler over the years. His height is a huge advantage for him and could be a lethal weapon for Team India in the upcoming Australia tour. It is important for them that he stays fully fit for the tour and make use of the bouncy tracks down under.

The 30-year-old bowled beautifully for his team in the recent England tour and went on to scalp 18 wickets ending as the second highest wicket-taker of the series behind James Anderson. He will once again be expected to take up the responsibility of leading the attack against Australia and even Ishant will be looking to hit the straps soon keeping the tour in mind.

The four-match Test series between the two teams will commence on December 6 in Adelaide post the conclusion of the three T20 Internationals.
