James Vince joins Sydney Thunders in the BBL after disappointing Ashes
Terming his return to T20 exciting the right-hander said that he would like to enjoy some cricket and contribute to winning the games for Thunders
England’s number 3 James Vince has joined BBL franchise Sydney Thunders after the 4-0 Ashes loss. Vince said that he was upbeat to join the side after a disappointing series. Vince had a mixed campaign in the recently-concluded Ashes as the 26-year-old could only manage to score two 50-plus innings during the visitors’ 4-0 loss to Australia. Vince started the series with a brilliant 83 helping the side consolidate after the early blow of Cook on the very first day but could not emulate his success in the next 8 innings as the Australian pace battery along with spin of Nathan Lyon was too hot to handle.
Terming his return to T20 exciting the right-hander said that he would like to enjoy some cricket and contribute to winning the games for Thunders. He said that he was happy as he was getting out of the pressure and discipline of Test cricket for the moment to play the T20s.

‘It is nice to play some T20 cricket, get away from the pressure and sort of discipline of Test cricket in a way and to be able to get out here and enjoy myself and contribute to a few wins,” said Vince who recently got support from English coach after his spot was questioned for the upcoming New Zealand tour.
Vince has been named in the England side for the triangular T20 series involving Australia and New Zealand. Vince said that he will use the BBL opportunity with the Thunders as preparation for the international games for England.
Vince was associated with the franchise last year as well and he termed the last year’s experience as a good fun. And he hoped that he will put a good show in front of a good crowd.
The Thunders will take on the last year’s winner Perth Scorchers on Thursday and Vince is hopeful to play for the remaining of the games for the Thunders. “I’ve got four games here to try [and] make an impact and try to get into some finals,” said Vince.
