India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has thoroughly established himself into an indispensable asset for the Indian team across formats. Known for the knack of bowling inch-perfect yorkers, Bumrah has delivered consistent performances in coloured clothing when it mattered the most and has since become an irreplaceable asset for the Indian national cricket team.

The right-arm fast bowler shot to prominence when he held his nerves and performed really well during ICC Champions’ Trophy in 2017, where he took 4 wickets in 5 matches at an impressive economy rate of just 5 runs an over, which is pretty much impressive for a death overs’ specialist.

The pace spearhead didn’t play matches in recent times as he was out of Team India’s set up due to a minor stress fracture in his lower back. Unfortunately, he had to miss home assignments against South Africa, Bangladesh and West Indies respectively. However, in the latest development, the fast bowler returned to India squad after a four-month gap as he underwent surgery in order to treat his lower back problem.

He was last seen sporting the jersey against West Indies in August. The fast bowler proved his fitness by bowling during the team’s training session ahead of the second ODI against the West Indies in Vizag. He is now in good shape and will take the field for India in the upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka.

Jasprit Bumrah bowls a gem of a delivery

Ahead of the series, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Twitter handle posted a video of Bumrah’s bowling masterclass at the nets. The video received countless reactions from the fans on all social media platforms. BCCI Twitter handle came up with a unique caption to praise the world-class bowler. An excerpt from the video reads: “Missed this sight, anyone? 🔥🔥🔝 How’s that from @Jaspritbumrah93 #TeamIndia #INDvSL.”

Jasprit Bumrah’s sensational delivery was nothing less than an eye’s feast.

Here’s the video:

Virat Kohli and his troops will be looking forward to the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. In the ICC T20I rankings, India are ranked fifth with 258 points from 39 matches. Sri Lanka are ranked seventh with 238 rating points from 27 matches. After the end of the series, India will play three-match ODI against Australia. The first ODI will be played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on January 14.

With the ICC World T20 tournament set to take place this year later in the month of October, India are expected to play 20-overs format games throughout the season in a bid to prepare themselves for the marquee event. India will fly to New Zealand to play 5 T20Is and 3 ODIs after the conclusion of Sri Lanka and Australia assignments at home.
