'Kahi yeh wrong number toh nahi' - Rajasthan Royals doubts authenticity of Lucknow team's Twitter handle

Lucknow and Ahmedabad will be the two new franchises for the IPL 2022 as they won the bidding in October. Sanjiv Goenka’s RPSG group had won the bid for the Lucknow franchise for a whopping 7000 crores while the CVC Capitals won the bid for the Ahmedabad team. Although the franchise names haven’t been picked up yet, the Twitter handle of the Lucknow team has already set in and has reached 20000 followers on their debut day.

Lucknow IPL team announced their arrival on social media with @TeamLucknowIPL as their account name and they are expected to keep the fans entertained. The inaugural IPL champions Rajasthan Royals who have been one of the most active Twitter handles had welcomed the Lucknow franchise with banter that has gone viral already. The Royals Twitter handle placed doubts on Lucknow’s Twitter account’s authenticity with the verified tick mark missing.

Rajasthan Royals comes up with a funny banter

The Lucknow franchise had started with a video post noting their entry officially with a tick mark. Immediately, the Rajasthan Royals franchise in a funny note replied to the Lucknow Twitter handle with the tweet of “Kahi yeh wrong number toh Nahi? which means “What if it’s a wrong number”. Rajasthan Royals had already listed a set of targets for the new year in which they tried to pull the legs of Scott Styris too.

 

There have been rumors of KL Rahul being the likely candidate to lead the franchise. Lucknow has announced their head coach to be Andy Flower while Vijay Dahiya has been appointed as the assistant head coach. Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir has been appointed as the mentor for the franchise and they do have a lot of options to pick from for their retentions now.

It will be interesting to see the updates now from their Twitter handle of the Lucknow franchise which has been very active so far. The mega auction for IPL 2022 is all set to take place on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru and all eyes will be on the two new franchises. Chennai Super Kings will start as the defending champions in IPL 2022 after winning their fourth IPL title recently.
