Preview

In the sixth match of the IPL 2026, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Kolkata Knight Riders began their Indian Premier League 2026 campaign on a disappointing note, despite posting a good total of 220 runs against the Mumbai Indians in their opening match. The opposition produced an exceptional batting performance, successfully chasing down the target in the final over to secure a six-wicket victory.

Kolkata’s innings was anchored by a solid 67 from Ajinkya Rahane, while Finn Allen contributed a quickfire 37. Angkrish Raghuvanshi further strengthened the total with an impressive half-century. However, Kolkata’s bowling unit failed to deliver, with Vaibhav Arora, Kartik Tyagi, and Sunil Narine managing just one wicket each.

On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad also endured a defeat in their opening fixture against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Batting first, Hyderabad posted a competitive total of 201 runs; however, their bowling attack proved ineffective as Bengaluru chased down the target comfortably within 16 overs, winning by six wickets. For Hyderabad, captain Ishan Kishan led from the front with a commanding innings of 80 runs, while Aniket Verma added a valuable 43 in the middle order. Despite these efforts, their bowlers struggled significantly, with David Payne picking up two wickets, while Harsh Dubey and Jaydev Unadkat claimed one wicket each.
