IPL 2025 Stats

IPL 2025 will see 10 teams vie for the coveted trophy after immense brainstorming over the mega auctions and player retentions. The last season was a batter’s fest with 200 and above totals that seemed like a walk in the park. Batters like Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, and Jake Fraser McGurk struck at a strike rate of around 200.

Fraser McGurk, who joined the Delhi Capitals playing XI a bit late, replaced David Warner and became the Electric Striker of the Tournament with a strike rate of 234.4. Kolkata Knight Riders’ Sunil Narine became the first-ever player to win the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament award thrice. Narine was at his best with 488 runs and 17 wickets to his name in IPL 2024.

The previous record of 37 200 plus scores in an IPL season was broken in the IPL 2024 in just 60 odd games. Moreover, Punjab Kings orchestrated the biggest chase in the history of IPL as they chased down the 262-run target of KKR. Looking at this, the new Impact Player rule of IPL has come under intense scrutiny with several players and critics remarking that the rule takes away the bowler’s advantage in the game.

Speaking of the bowlers, Harshal Patel of Punjab Kings won the Purple Cap for most wickets. The right-arm pacer plucked 24 wickets in 14 games at an average of 19.88. The Orange Cap was adorned by Virat Kohli with 741 runs in 15 games at an average of 61.75.
