In Qualifier 1 of IPL 2026, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will take on Gujarat Titans (GT). Royal Challengers Bengaluru have been in outstanding form this season, winning nine of their 14 league-stage matches and finishing at the top of the points table. However, they suffered a 55-run defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their previous game. Batting first, Hyderabad posted a massive total of 255 runs, while Bengaluru could only manage 200 in reply. For RCB, the top order showed some fight, with Venkatesh Iyer scoring 44 runs and Rajat Patidar contributing a valuable 56. In the bowling department, most of the RCB bowlers struggled to stop the flow of runs. However, Rasikh Salam impressed with figures of 2/52 in four overs, while Krunal Pandya and Suyash Sharma picked up one wicket each.
On the other hand, the Gujarat Titans have also enjoyed an excellent campaign, finishing second in the league-stage standings. They carried their strong momentum into the previous match, registering a dominant 89-run victory over Chennai Super Kings. Batting first, Gujarat piled up 229 runs before bowling Chennai out for just 140. Their top order once again delivered brilliantly, with Sai Sudharsan smashing 84 off 53 balls, while Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler added 64 and 57 runs, respectively.
With the ball, Mohammed Siraj emerged as the standout performer, claiming 3 wickets for 26 runs in his three overs. Kagiso Rabada and Rashid Khan also made valuable contributions by picking up three wickets each. The stakes are now extremely high, as the winner of this clash will secure a direct place in the tournament final, while the losing side will get another opportunity through Qualifier 2
