Most sixes in a test innings: Test cricket has been known for being slow, rather boring in terms of fan turnover and action. But there have been instances, rather a few sparkling innings by a few batsman who have played a vital role in keeping the interest of the fans intact. So here is the top 10 batsman with most number of sixes in a test innings.

From bottom to top it has almost all the legends who have played the longest format of the game. Adam Gilchrist, the Australian wicket-keeper batsman is at the lower end no. 10 with 8 sixes in his innings of 204* he played against South Africa at Johannesburg on the 22nd February 2002.

He closely follows Navjyot Singh Siddhu the Indian batting master of the past who has hit the equal number of sixes during the knock in which he made 124 runs against Sri Lanka at Lucknow on the 18th of January 1994. These two have 8 predecessor’s with the likes of Chris Gayle, Tim Southee, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Chris Cairns all of whom have hit 9 sixes each in an innings.

The top 4 of this fascinating list includes the likes of W Hammond for England with 10 big blows in his big innings of 336* against the New Zealand at Auckland. At the third place is Mathew Hayden with 11 and Nathan Astle with equal number of sixer’s in their knocks of 380 and 222 respectively.On the top of the charts is a surprising name of Wasim Akram, who is better known for his bowling. But, his batting skills were at best display here and he hit 12 shots into the stands playing against the Zimbabwe and score 257* runs in the innings.
