Veteran Indian cricketer MS Dhoni had a very successful run in the 2018 edition of the Indian Premier League. Coming in to the tournament, Dhoni was under immense pressure to perform. A lot of people were scrutinizing him and the calls to replace him with a youngster were very common on the talk shows and the social media. But the way the former Indian skipper silenced the critics was totally amazing.

Dhoni arrived in to the competition leading the comeback side, the Chennai Super Kings, to their third title win in the tournament history. He was exceptional as a leader and the players kept crediting their success to the way MS Dhoni handled them throughout the season. While he was successful as a leader, he was highly impressive with the bat as well.

Dhoni aggregated 455 runs in the season and hit three fifties. He showed glimpses of vintage Dhoni in the season. An unbeaten 79 against Kings XI Punjab saw his side fall short by just 4 runs in one of the fixtures. He bettered his performance and scored an unbeaten to ensure his side was over the line against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He also hit a 22-ball fifty in the season.

Offering prayers to the almighty

Certainly, the season was a very good one for him. Recently, he visited the Deori temple in Ranchi after a successful IPL season. He offered his prayers at the temple. The fans gathered in huge numbers to see MS Dhoni at the temple. As per the quotes in Sportstar, the priest of the temple revealed that MS Dhoni had made a wish for the successful IPL outing. Hence, he came back to thank the almighty.

Furthermore, he added that Dhoni has now prayed for the upcoming series as well. “The wish he made for IPL victory was fulfilled and he prayed for the upcoming series,” said priest Manoj Panda. “Like always, Dhoni came to the temple after winning the match and prayed here. On his visit here, there was a lot of rush,” the priest remarked further.
