Shakib Al Hasan hasn’t had an overwhelming period in the last few months. The cricketer has been suffering from a finger injury owing to which he has been out of the game for quite a while. He has previously been named in the Bangladesh squad for the ongoing triangular series in Sri Lanka. However, he failed to recover and was subsequently ruled out of the series.

Nevertheless, the cricketer has recovered from the injury and will make a comeback in the ongoing T20 International series. As per reports in Cricbuzz, the Khulna cricketer might be a part of Bangladesh’s playing XI for their upcoming game against Sri Lanka on March 16. The game is a virtual semi-final for the teams as the winners will go through to play India in the Final on March 18.

Shakib didn’t participate in Bangladesh’s Test and ODI series against Sri Lanka. However, following the injury has had a torrid time. Shakib went to Bangkok in February where he was suggested to go through a physiotherapy. Nonetheless, despite the medical attention, Shakib was unable to recover and the chances of his participation in the series turned bleak.

Bangladesh has had an awry campaign thus far in the tournament. They slumped against India in their opening game, however, managed to stun Sri Lanka by notching their highest run-chase in T20 Internationals. Nevertheless, they were brushed aside by India in their third game. Mushfiqur Rahim tried his heart out, but couldn’t shepherd his team over the finishing line.

Shakib was appointed the skipper prior to the series. However, following his finger injury, Mahmudullah has been assigned the responsibility of leadership and has performed decently enough. Shakib Al Hasan’s return comes as a massive boost for the team and they will be looking to turn over the hosts and storm into the final.
