In the wake of Cornavirus outbreak, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had urged the nation to go under self-imposed Janata Curfew on Sunday. Abiding to the same, majority of the people of India stayed inside their homes to break the transmission chain of Coronavirus. Modi had also appealed to the country to come out and clap at 5 PM for the ones who are still out there helping those in trouble.

And even for this activity, there was immense response throughout the country. The cricketing celebrities were also trying from their end to do a bit for the country by urging their fans to not come out of their respective homes on Sunday. Time and again there were also reminders to not forget to appreciate the doctors, nurses and many of those who are serving the nation in the need of the hour.

While the Indian cricketers were ahead in urging their fans, they themselves also came out exactly at 5 PM and expressed their gratitude towards everyone fighting it out.

Suresh Raina, Aakash Chopra, Harbhajan among many join the bandwagon

The likes of Suresh Raina, Aakash Chopra, Harbhajan Singh, RP Singh, Unmukt Chand were a few among the many to post the videos of them to clap and clang utensils along with their family. “So proud to see the whole nation following the advisories & observing the #JantaCurfew! Thank you all the doctors, nurses, caregivers, armed forces, support staff, airport staff & everyone else out there working relentlessly for us in these difficult times. #IndiaFightsCorona,” Suresh Raina tweeted.

Unmukt Chand too narrated his experience on the day and also made sure that he appreciated the work of the doctors, nurses and others in his way. “Been a great experience today, exercising, reading, meditation and now appreciating! Be grateful for everything and take challenges head on. #JantaCurfew #PrayersForCoronaFreeWorld,” his tweet read.

As far as cricketing action is concerned, it has come to a standstill due to the Coronavirus pandemic. One of the marquee tournaments of the calendar, the Indian Premier League (IPL) which was set to commence on March 29, has also been pospone until April 15. Looking at the current situation, the possibilities of the 13th edition going ahead look grim.
