Two of the most influential industries in the country of India, Bollywood, and cricket, go hand in hand. From Mohammad Azharuddin and Sangeeta Bijlani to Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and Sharmila Tagore, from Yuvraj Singh and Hazel Keech to Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, celebrities from both the fields have maintained a close link over decades. While men cricketers dating B-town divas are a familiar story, we now have a case in hand where a women’s team cricketer revealed her wish to date a Bollywood actor!

The main story:

Left-handed opener Smriti Mandhana confessed about the same in an event organized by India Today. Mandhana, managed to build up a staggering fan base during India’s Women’s World Cup campaign, owing to her infectious smile, stated that she would like to date superstar Hrithik Roshan. Hrithik Roshan has always been at the top of the chart, not only in India but all over the globe, as far as looks are concerned. The 2nd generation superstar possesses looks that resemble a Greek God which is way more than enough to make girls drool over him.

Smriti Mandhana, whose century against the West Indies in the World Cup is still fresh in our minds, declared Arijit Singh as her favorite singer. Teammates Jhulan Goswami and Veda Krishnamurthy also revealed their respective choices. Senior cricketer Jhulan Goswami stated that she would like to date a Hollywood actor rather than someone from Bollywood. Veda Krishnamurthy went for the energetic and handsome Ranveer Singh when asked about the same.

Jhulan Goswami and Smriti Mandha also appreciated BCCI’s decision to develop women’s cricket India. The BCCI agreed to form an India Women’s ‘A’ team and also confirmed the increase of domestic matches for the girls.

“BCCI has been promoting cricket in a much better way over the last four-five years. When I started playing cricket, there was nothing but now they have done a lot even in the grassroots level,” Jhulan said at India Today Mind Rocks.

Speaking of the same, Smriti said “Women’s IPL will be a great thing. The domestic players will get to play with the international stars. I’m sure BCCI will think about it,”.
