The West Indian lit up the stadium with a display of power-hitting, smashing the second-fastest half-century in IPL history by reaching the milestone in just 14 balls. His innings included four boundaries and six sixes. In the penultimate over, bowled by Khaleel Ahmed, Shepherd smashed 32 runs and followed up with 20 more in the final over, bowled by Matheesha Pathirana. He finished unbeaten on 53* off just 14 balls, at a strike rate of 378.57, taking RCB to a formidable total of 213 for 5.
CSK needed to chase 214 runs to avenge their earlier loss to RCB at Chepauk. Meanwhile, RCB will aim to secure a crucial win in front of their home crowd and climb up the points table.
