WATCH: Vaibhav Suryavanshi's hilarious 'main kab roya' banter with Musheer Khan goes viral
Vaibhav Suryavanshi seemingly was in tears after getting out on his IPL debut.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the youngest player in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL), revealed on Sunday, May 18, why he appeared teary-eyed when he was dismissed for the first time this season during a chat with Musheer Khan.
Suryavanshi, who was signed by the Rajasthan Royals (RR) for INR 1.10 crore at the IPL 2025 mega auction, made his debut in the 10-team tournament on April 19 against Lucknow Super Giants and made an instant impact, scoring a quickfire 34 off 20 balls. As he was making his way back to the pavilion after being dismissed by Aiden Markram, some fans pointed out that he seemed to be crying.
However, after scoring a 15-ball 40 against Punjab Kings on Sunday at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Suryavanshi told Musheer that he wasn't crying. Instead, it was eye pain combined with the bright screen lights that caused irritation and made him touch his eyes, even though everyone thought he was shedding tears.
“Arey kab roya main yaar? Aarey kuch nahi, main batata hu. Aankh bahut dard kar raha thha (When did I cry? It was nothing like that, I am telling you. My eyes were paining a lot)," Suryavanshi was captured saying on a video posted by Rajasthan on social media.

Royals fall short despite Suryavanshi-Jaiswal fireworks
Notably, Vaibhav Suryavanshi played another fabulous knock on Sunday, smashing four fours and as many sixes en route to 40 runs off 15 balls. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel also scored breathtaking half-centuries as RR reached 209/7 in their 20 overs. However, they still fell 10 runs short of PBKS' first-innings total of 219/5.
For Punjab, Nehal Wadhera and Shashank Singh smashed exhilarating half-centuries. Harpreet Brar was the pick of the bowlers in this clash, as he bagged three wickets, conceding just 22 runs in his four overs in the high-scoring affair.
