In the ongoing PSL 2023, Shadab Khan continued his stellar display with the bat. But just when it seemed that Islamabad United will easily seal this match in their favour, Khan was dismissed by Ihsanullah. Eventually, Khan was disappointed and angry with himself as he was backing himself to score big. But this gave Multan Sultans a chance to make a comeback into the game. Interestingly enough, the stump mic caught Khan yelling cuss words out of frustration.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Wasim Jr played a crucial cameo (16 off 7) and Ashraf went berserk in the final over against Mohammad Ilyas that propelled United to victory with one ball to spare. Post the match, as the Pakistan star batter took to Instagram to share the images of the thrilling encounter, the New Zealand all-rounder, Jimmy Neesham found something amusing and had a question for the United batter.

"Why’d you shout at Ben Stokes when you got out?" Neesham asked Khan hilariously about his dismissal and surprisingly took Ben Stokes' name out of nowhere. To this Shadab replied back to Neesham on a lighter note by saying, "@jimmyneesham because I was missing him." Consequently, the fans loved this banter between the two cricketers.

For the uninitiated, Neesham probably misunderstood what Khan really said as he said something in his local language.

Islamabad United pulled off a spirited run chase against Multan Sultans

Speaking of the spirited run chase, United lost both the openers inside the powerplay chasing a mammoth target of 206. Albeit, Colin Munro along with skipper Shadab Khan steadied the ship by stitching a 59-run stand between them.

Notably, this was not the first time the Men in Red have pulled off a stunning run chase after getting derailed in initial phases of the match. Against the Quetta Gladiators too, they needed 9 runs to win which they chased down successfully. But in this match against Multan Sultans, their target was more stiff as they required 18 runs off the last over.
However, Fahim Ashraf's unbeaten 51-run knock and lower order batters contributed with cameos to take the team home. Islamabad United will now take on Lahore Qalandars next with a chance for both the sides to become the table toppers. The match will be played on Thursday, March 9.
