Royal Challengers Bengaluru created a unique record amidst the suspension of the Indian Premier League 2025 for a week. The Bengaluru-based franchise became the most-talked-about team for the month of April. The three-time finalists pipped major title-winning teams like Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, and Kolkata Knight Riders in the unique feat in the ongoing season. Interestingly, defending champions KKR was not even in the list of the top five most-talked-about teams in the month.

April 2025 witnessed the peak of cricket in the year due to the IPL. Most of the top players in the world were involved in the league. RCB, which has had a great run in the league so far, was the talking point of the month for staying in the top half of the points table for most of the month ever since the beginning of the eighteenth edition.

CSK, which had a poor outing in April, was still the second most-talked about team in the league. It was in the same period that the Rajat Patidar-led side overtook them to become the most followed team on Instagram, with 19.6 million followers as of writing. Due to CSK's poor performance in the IPL 2025, there was a lot of interaction with their name as well.

MI was in the third position on the list as the Hardik Pandya-led side has enjoyed a brilliant campaign in April despite a poor start to the marquee league. Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals were in the fourth and fifth positions in the list. While PBKS were as good as the top teams in the table, RR had some young guns firing for them in the month.

Teams like Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals, who were in the top half of the points table, did not find their names in the top 5 of the list, despite being one of the toppers of the points table so far. Likewise, 2024 finalists SRH also did not make it.

The ranking was made based on the data on X by collecting the list of authors with the most posts for the entirety of April. As per Tweetblinder, the five-time champions were at the top of the list for a long time in the month before RCB replaced the MS Dhoni & Co.
