The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 witnessed one of the greatest and most destructive innings within the IPL by 14-year-old swashbuckling RR opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who went on to score the fastest century for an Indian in just 35 deliveries against the Gujarat Titans (GT).

There is no doubt that Suryavanshi’s iconic innings at the Sawai Man Singh has gained a a lot of attention and he has said in a video released by IPL that he owes all his success and achievements to his family who supported him and sacrificed a lot to make sure he makes it to a big stage like the IPL. Suryavanshi. He also brings up the struggles of his family during his early days in the game.

“Whatever I am today, I owe it to my parents. My mother used to wake up early because I had to go to practice, and she used to prepare food for me. She would sleep for three hours. My father left his work for me, and my big brother is handling it now. We were struggling. My father has backed me and said I would be able to achieve it. Whatever result is visible today, and the success I have achieved, is due to my parents," Vaibhav said in a video posted by IPL on X.

Speaking of the fastest century by an Indian in IPL before Suryavanshi, it was none other than 2011 World Cup winner and three-time IPL champion Yusuf Pathan, who also achieved the feat while playing for the Rajasthan Royals in 2010 against the Mumbai Indians. Pathan had scored his century in 37 deliveries at the Brabourne Stadium.
