The 35th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 saw Gujarat Titans (GT) face Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, April 19. Delhi Capitals posted a formidable total of 203 runs in their allotted 20 overs. For Gujarat, the right-arm pacer Prasidh Krishna stood out with the ball, delivering an exceptional spell that yielded four crucial wickets in his four overs.

Chasing 204 runs for victory, Gujarat Titans were guided by a magnificent innings from Jos Buttler. The English opener was in sublime form, taking on the bowlers with authority. The most thrilling moment of the run chase came in the 15th over, bowled by Australian pace spearhead Mitchell Starc.

Buttler began the over by creating room and smashing the ball through extra cover for a boundary. Starc followed up with a wide yorker, but Buttler reached out and sliced it past backward point for four more. The third ball, another attempted wide yorker, took a thick edge and ran away to third man for yet another four.

On the fourth delivery, Starc missed his length again, and Buttler stayed leg-side to drive it past mid-off for the fourth boundary of the over. Starc then tried a short ball, but Buttler's mis-hit pull fell just short of a diving Vipraj Nigam at deep square leg and ran away to the boundary ropes, making it five boundaries in the over and a total of 20 runs off it.

Buttler continued to steer the chase with power. Unfortunately, he was denied a well-deserved century, finishing unbeaten on 97 off 54 balls, with 11 fours and four sixes. Rahul Tewatia closed out the match in style, hitting a six and a four in the final over when 10 runs were required, sealing a convincing seven-wicket win for Gujarat Titans.

With this victory, GT moved to the top of the IPL 2025 points table, pushing Delhi Capitals down to the second spot.
