The defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are clashing with Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. KKR posted 206 runs in their first innings with a terrific finish from Andre Russell.

KKR spinners were all over the RR batters by picking up wickets at quick intervals. The eighth over was bowled by the mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy. The third delivery bowled to the RR wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel and knocked the batter’s stumps. The leg-spinner floated the ball outside off, and the right-handed batter could not identify the ball turn. The batter came front and tried to keep the ball away, but left a gap between the bat and pad. The ball went right through the gap and crashed into the off-stump.

The fifth ball was a tossed up googly to the Sri Lankan Wanindu Hasaranga, and the batter tried to push it with very minimal foot movement. The ball got beaten on the inside edge and went to hit the off-stump of the right-hander. The RR skipper Riyan Parag, who was on the other end, had a grim expression after the second wicket of the over.
