[WATCH] IPL 2025: Yashaswi Jaiswal mauls Arshdeep Singh in 22-run over in RR vs PBKS clash
The 22-run over was Arshdeep's joint-most expensive over in IPL history.
Yashasvi Jaiswal took Arshdeep Singh to the cleaners during Match 59 of IPL 2025 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Sunday, May 18. Chasing 220, it was just the kind of start Rajasthan Royals would have been aiming for.
The aggressive southpaw slashed hard as the first and third deliveries were stroked away for boundaries. Jasiwal did not stop and scooped the fourth over the wicketkeeper for another boundary. The subsequent delivery brought the first six of the innings while the sixth and final delivery went for a streaky four to make it a 22-run over.
Notably, Arshdeep was coming off quite impressive performances in his past few games. In his previous five IPL games (before the nine-day hiatus), he conceded runs at an impressive economy rate of 6.3.
Meanwhile, the left-armer returned from the other end for his second over inside the powerplay. However, this time it was Vaibhav Suryavanshi's bat which did the talking as the 14-year-old dismissed the wily pacer for 16 runs.
Earlier in the evening, PBKS managed 219/5 after opting to bat first as Nehal Wadhera (70 off 37) top-scored while Shashank Singh's blistering 30-ball 59-run blitz and Azmatullah Omarzai (unbeaten 21 off nine) powered the visitors to a strong total. For RR, Riyan Parag proved to be the most economical bowler while Tushar Deshpande ended up with a two-wicket haul.

RR have already been eliminated from the race to the playoffs. As far as PBKS are concerned, a win in Jaipur will further strengthen their position in the points table. RR have had a season to forget, and a win against PBKS would just be their fourth of the season.
