Despite not getting rewards for his consistent performances for the India A team, Manish Pandey continued his rich form by leading the A side to their 5th consecutive One-Day tournament win and stood out as the top-scorer. His tally of 307 runs in the tournament is only the 7th instance of an India A player aggregating 300 or more in an International A team One-Day tournament.

Pandey scored 359 runs during India A’s previous tournament last year which included the hosts Australia A, National Performance Squad and South Africa A. Thus Pandey became the only India A player to score 300+ runs in two different List A tournaments. (Note: This article doesn’t include any numbers from the Challenger Trophy and Deodhar Trophy which are part of India’s domestic tournament)

Shikhar Dhawan holds the record for scoring the most runs for India A in a tournament as he amassed 410 runs in the ‘A’ Team Tri-series in South Africa in 2013 against the South Africa and Australia A sides. Dhawan recorded his career best knock of 248 in this tournament.

Mayank Agarwal came close to Dhawan’s record during the 2015 Tri-series in India played against South Africa A and Australia A sides only. However, he managed to score 409 runs in the five matches in the tournament with two centuries.

MS Dhoni’s tally of 362 runs in the 2004 Kenya triangular tournament is the 3rd most by an India A player in a List A tournament. This is the same tourney which paved Dhoni’s entry to the Indian senior team.
