As the world celebrated Friendship Day on August 6, the Indian cricketers also did not miss out on the opportunity. The Men in Blue, in fact, had a double celebration to catch. Firstly the celebration for Friendship Day and then another one for their Colombo Test win. With the victory, India clinched the three Test series, 2-0.
The left-hander Shikhar Dhawan posted a video of him having fun with teammates Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara. He captioned the video saying, “Teda hai par mera hai.. Wish you all a very happy friendship day. Have great fun and full masti.”

Following on Day Four at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC), Sri Lanka came out with a spirited performance and showed some signs of promise in their second innings. However, they suffered another batting collapse and were ultimately bundled out for 386, thus handing the visitors emphatic innings and 53-run win with a day to spare.
Match story
After putting up a shambolic performance in the first innings with 183 on the scoreboard, The Sri Lankan batsmen displayed a more inspired show in their second essay, falling short of the 400-run mark by 14 runs. Dimuth Karunaratne (141) and Kusal Mendis (110) led the attack for the island nation in the second innings with their respective centuries.
However, despite the heroics on Day 4, it doesn’t take away the fact that the Indians once again were the superior side in this match, and were the deserving winners in the end.
A five-wicket haul from Ravindra Jadeja helped India beat the hosts and take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. The left hander will, however, stay suspended for the next Test at Pallekele after his accumulated demerit points reached six within a 24-month.
