Steve Smith hails Bhuvneshwar Kumar as good death bowler ahead of CT 2017

The Australian team has arrived in London and are all set to start their preparations for the upcoming edition of the ICC Champions Trophy. The team has seen the addition of some of their big players who were involved in the Indian Premier League this year. One among those players was their skipper Steve Smith. Australian captain Smith had a phenomenal run in the IPL this year.

He scored runs consistently for his team Rising Pune Supergiant. Steve Smith led the RPS camp the finals of the tournament but his fifty in the final was not enough to see RPS win the title. Well, the Aussie cricketer has certainly moved on and is now all set to get back in action in the Australian colors. Team Australia has two warm-up matches to play before the tournament proper starts on June 1.

As per the recent updates by popular media house ANI, Steve Smith recently spoke about the quality of bowlers in world cricket at the moment. He also spoke about his practice for the big ICC event. Smith hailed Indian bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar as one of best death overs bowlers. Bhuvneshwar had finished as the winner of the Purple Cap with most number of wickets to his name in the IPL 10.

Bhuvi’s heroics in IPL

He remarked that Bhuvi was amazing with the ball for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL. “Bhuvneshwar did a terrific job for Hyderabad (in IPL), there are lots of good death bowlers in world,” quoted Smith.

Challenges for an international player

He further added that being an international player, the individuals must be ready for each and every challenge that beckons on the cricket field. He quoted, “Have to be up for each & every challenge when you are an international player.”

Australia will play their first match in the Champions Trophy on June 2 against New Zealand at Edgbaston, Birmingham. Check the full schedule here.
