India’s left-hand batsman Suresh Raina with his wife Priyanka yesterday visited former Indian head coach Anil Kumble‘s house in Bangalore. The couple enjoyed their time eating some delicious South Indian food at Kumble’s residence. Raina posted a lovely picture on the social media with the entire family with these two guests.

The southpaw has been out of contention from the national team for a long time now. He last played the T20I series against England at the start of the calendar year. Since then it has been a tough time for Raina who been overlooked for every limited-over series. He has also recorded a string of low scores in the domestic cricket for his state Uttar Pradesh. His performance and confidence have been seriously affected after getting dropped from the Indian team.

Thank you for the amazing South Indian food

The 31-year old cricketer didn’t play a lot with the national team during Kumble’s reign as the head coach. He is in Bangalore currently training at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and paid his former mate a visit.

Raina thanked the former coach and his family for the amazing food that they served. He posted the image on Instagram and wrote- “Lovely to meet the family @anil.kumble bhai! And had the most amazing South Indian food thank you so much!”

It is quite a struggling period for Raina who has been an experienced campaigner for the Indian team in the recent years. But he has still not lost the courage to fight his way to make a comeback into the team. He just needs to keep performing and maintaining his fitness to regain the confidence of the selectors and the team management. This would surely earn him a reward in the future and then he can show his ability and talent at the grand stage once again.
