Team South Africa mock ICC and Australia during warm-up match

Team South Africa is definitely not pleased with the ICC’s decision. The International Cricket Council (ICC) charged the South African skipper Faf du Plessis for ball tampering. Du Plessis was found guilty of the offence that he ‘committed’ during the Hobart Test. The allegations were made when footages of Faf du Plessis applying his saliva on the ball surfaced the media.

The matter was brought under investigations which subsequently lead to the decision made today. The South Africa skipper pleaded not guilty and will now require a hearing, the details of which are still to be confirmed. All level 2 breaches carry an imposition of a fine between 50 per cent to 100 per cent of the applicable match fee and/or up to two suspension points, and three or four demerit points.

The charges has united the Proteas team. Hashim Amla termed the decision as a ‘joke’ in the press conference while speaking about the matter. “The reason everyone is here is to stand together, really, and to show solidarity to something … we thought was actually a joke,” Amla had quoted.

“It’s not April, but the allegation against Faf was … a really ridiculous thing. As a team, we’re standing strong, we’ve done nothing wrong. It’s basically a joke,” he had added. Pacer Dale Steyn, too, had his word of

Pacer Dale Steyn, too, had his word of decision made on the situation. He had mocked the ICC and Australian team on the social media. He had indicated that ball tampering was a way of covering up for the dismal show by the Aussies.

Now, the South African players have taken things to a whole new level. South Africa opted to play a limited overs day-night match against Victoria XI in their bid to prepare for the day-night Test. Although they lost the match, the players showed their support for their captain. Kyle Abbott was seen showing his tongue to his teammate at regular intervals. They all mocked the decision by their actions on the field.
