Since its inception in 2008, the Indian Premier League (IPL) has emerged as one of the best and celebrated T20 leagues across the globe. It is renowned for giving a platform to all the talented lads whether young or experienced to showcase their talent and run their shoulders with the greats of the game.

In the 13-year history of the league, hundreds of players have participated in the T20 Championship. While many have shined in the tournament and went on to make a name for themselves, there are a few who got lost among other players and couldn’t live up to their name in the tournament.

Here is the team-wise one player you don’t know was once part of in IPL

Sri Lanka’s former limited-overs skipper Thisara Perera has been one of the favourite players of IPL franchises over the years. He has fetched a staggering amount of money from as many as six franchises in his IPL career for his big-hitting power and ability to chip in a few crucial overs for the team as a right-arm medium pacer.

Not many are aware of the fact that Thisara Perera had started his career in the Indian T20 Extravaganza with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as he was bought by the team for US$50,000 in the auction for the 2010 edition. However, he failed to live up to his hefty paycheque and represented the Super Kings in just one game.

While Thisara Perera didn’t bat in that game, he bowled one over (which had 5 full tosses) that went for 19 runs. Unsurprisingly he was dropped from the playing XI and was released ahead of the next season. After that, he went on to play for five more teams namely Kochi Tuskers Kerala, Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kings XI Punjab, and Rising Pune Supergiant featuring in 37 games scoring 422 runs and scalping 31 wickets.
