Ireland caused the first upset of the 2015 World cup when they defeated the West Indies in their first match. West Indies had scored 304 with Lendl Simmons (109) and Darren Sammy (89) being the top contributors.
Ireland’s chase was comfortable with Paul Stirling (92), Ed Joyce (84) and Niall O’Brien (79*) easing the chase with some deft strokes and clever running. Ireland made 307/6 in 45 overs to win their first match in 2015 competition.
