Top 8 Teams with most wins in World Cup history
1. Australia- 62 wins out of 84 matches
The 5-time champions Australia have the world record for 25 consecutive wins in the World Cup starting after a defeat by Pakistan in the group stage in the 1999 World Cup, through the 2003 and 2007 editions, right until they met Pakistan again in the 2011 World cup group stage.
But that does not take away anything from them since they have won 62 games in a total of 84. They also won a hat-trick of titles in 1999, 2003 and 2007 and now they won the 2015 tournament. Australia’s record of 5 title wins will be hard to replicate or equal, let alone breaking it any time soon.
