It was complete madness at the Sir Vivian Richards stadium in Antigua as the Windies won the second Test against England. A complete team effort catapulted the Caribbean team to the pinnacle of fame, something that they’ve been missing for the last few years. What followed next were berserk scenes, that would surely give you goosebumps, as the Windies team did their victory laps amidst the roars of the crowd – in the true Caribbean style.

Yet, amidst all of this, there was one man whose heart stood still, mourning the loss of his mother. Alzarri Joseph walked out onto the field hours after the death of his mother. Joseph batted for 20 deliveries and picked up two important wickets in England’s second innings. The performance from England, though, was a huge disappointment. The fans and the team would be dejected after this show.

John Campbell finishes the game with a six!

Courtesy a gritty half-century from Darren Bravo, the Windies pushed their 85-run lead at the close of play on day-2 to a massive 119-run lead. This was a fairly huge lead considering the pitch and the kind of cricket that England was playing in this Test match. After an opening partnership of 35 runs, Rory Burns was the first man to depart for 16 runs.

Jonny Bairstow tried to play with the same kind of aggressive approach as in the first innings. But, the Windies skipper cleaned his stumps with a beauty. Alzarri Joseph picked up the next two wickets of Joe Root and Joe Denly in quick time. Ben Stokes got out to a terrible shot off the bowling of Kemar Roach who also dismissed Moeen Ali and Ben Foakes cheaply. Both Roach and Holder picked up four-wicket hauls as the Brits were bowled out for a paltry 132 runs.

The Windies openers completed the chase of 14 runs in 2.1 overs to switch to the celebration mode. John Campbell sealed the game with a six as the team won by 10 wickets to take an unassailable lead of 2-0. Twitterati erupted with joy as the Windies defeated England in a Test series at home after a gap of 10 years. They believe that this Windies team has got a long way to go.
