The troubles for England intensified at the close of play on Day-2. The Windies have converted a deficit of 157 runs at the end of Day-1 to an 85-run lead to take the complete control over the game. Although this might seem to be small, it is actually huge in the context of the game given that the pitch isn’t an easy one to bat on.
It was an unlucky day for the Brits. The bowlers have bowled their hearts out. Stuart Broad, in particular, was exceptional. However, they failed to get amongst the wickets. Windies have still got two genuine batsmen out there in the middle and they will try their best to push the lead as much as possible.
All the Windies batsmen fail to convert the starts
Getting in on this track seems to be extremely difficult. Most of the batsmen took a lot of deliveries before they really got going. However, the Windies batsmen wasted all the hard work put in initially as they threw their wickets away at the wrong time. Most of them got out in the 30s or the 40s which was quite disappointing.
Starting with an overnight score of 30/0, the Windies openers added another 40 runs together before Ben Stokes dismissed John Campbell for 47 runs. His partner Kraigg Brathwaite also fell marginally short of a half-century as he departed for 49 runs. Shai Hope, Roston Chase and Shimron Hetmyer scored 44, 4 and 21 runs respectively. But, all of them failed to convert the starts that they’ve got.
Darren Bravo along with skipper Jason Holder is still batting out there in the middle. While Bravo is unbeaten on 33, Holder is going strong on 19. Twitterati erupted as Windies dominated England again in this series and commended the batsmen for playing gritty yet special knocks. They wanted the English batsmen to take a cue from this performance.
Here is how Twitterati reacted:

Plenty of chat about the pitch during this test match. Yes it’s not an ordinary test surface but sometimes the groundsmen get it wrong.
Test cricket is about adaptability and so far in this match, West Indies have done that better than England. #digin— Chris Tremlett (@ChrisTremlett33) February 1, 2019
No luck & dropped chances will be the story from #Antigua today .. but do you all think any England top order player would be 25 no off 130 balls like Bravo !!! Small observation from Aussie ….. #WIvENG

The effort the bowlers have put in today needs to be backed up tomorrow by the Batsman … #Digin …. #WIvENG

In the face of some very good bowling from Broad, Stokes & Anderson; the @windiescricket batsmen have shown admirable courage, tenacity, focus & patience. A 80 run lead on this pitch is gold. 6 consecutively outstanding days of test cricket against a top 3 team. #WIvsEng.
