Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) continued their winning run in the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) as they beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by 25 runs in Match 30 on Monday, April 15 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. After being put in to bat first, SRH launched an all-out assault on the battered RCB bowling attack and posted the highest-ever total in the tournament’s history of 287/3 courtesy of a scintillating hundred from Travis Head.

In reply, RCB gave a tough fight in their chase but failed to keep up with the required run rate and finished their innings on 262/7 in their 20 overs. Following their win, SRH maintained the fourth spot on the points table with four wins from six matches while RCB finished on the last spot with just one win from seven matches having 14 points to their name.

1. Travis Head scores fourth fastest IPL hundred

The Australian opener continued his fearless approach at the top of the order as he whacked RCB bowlers all over the park and brought up his half-century off just 20 balls inside the powerplay. Head further continued his onslaught and registered the fourth-fastest hundred in IPL history off just 39 balls. He was finally dismissed for a breathtaking 102 off 41 balls smashing nine fours and eight sixes.

2. Heinrich Klaasen chips in with quick-fire half-century

The wicketkeeper batter walked to the crease after a fiery start from the openers with the score on 108/1 after 8.1 overs. Klaasen continued the momentum with a sensational innings of 67 off 31 balls smashing two fours and seven sixes. He got involved in crucial partnerships with Travis Head and Aiden Markram of 57 (26) and 66 (27) respectively to help his side cross the 230-run mark in 17 overs.

3. Dinesh Karthik’s gritty knock ends in vain

The wicketkeeper batter once again fought for his team till the end after coming in to bat with RCB on 121/4 after 9.3 overs. Needing over 160 runs to win in the last ten overs, Karthik continued to show intent and plundered 83 runs off just 35 balls dispatching the ball for five fours and seven sixes, of which travelled a whopping 108 metres. However, the 38-year-old couldn’t take his team over the line as RCB finished on the highest total batting second in IPL history of 262/7.
